Who: This event is for anyone in opposition to the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL).
What & Why: This event, organized by the Green Party of Santa Clara County, will consist of a march and a rally with speeches from people including an indigenous elder and a Stanford professor. This event aims to not only raise awareness of and opposition to DAPL, but also to join a movement defunding banks that have supported DAPL.
When & Where: There will be a rally and march from 12pm to 2pm. The rally will be held at Palo Alto City Hall, and the march will travel through downtown Palo Alto for about 1.2 miles.
There will also be a sign-making party at the house of one of the organizers, Mel Liu, on Friday, February 10 from 10am to 5pm at 2003 Edgewood Drive, Palo Alto, CA 94303.
How to Help: Attendance from those of all ages is strongly encouraged. Organizers also encourage people participating to bring signs and chant throughout the march to gain more attention for it.
