President-elect Trump has more than 4,000 government positions to fill, some of which are the most important jobs in the United States of America. While some Cabinet positions, such as the Attorney General or Secretary of State require Senate confirmation, other important posts such as the Chief of Staff and Press Secretary are under complete control of the President.
In many cases, protests are an effective catalyst for change. If you don’t like something, the best thing to do is to stand up and speak out against it. However, protesting the upcoming presidential inauguration is a prime example of when protesting is far more harmful than it is constructive.
With the new year in full swing, many of us have gone back to our everyday lives. However, as of Jan 1, 2017, a multitude of new state laws came into effect. Some laws voted on in November’s election have not yet taken effect, such as the legalization of marijuana, but will be implemented in the coming months or years.
